PHS Association Town Hall 2024

Over 40 residents attended the PHS Town Hall Mix & Mingle on October 22, 2024. The event primarily focused on fostering social connections and strengthening community ties, while also providing a brief overview of the Association’s key advocacy milestones from 2024.

At the Town Hall “Mix and Mingle” event, which drew a strong turnout of 40 residents, the importance of community involvement was emphasized, and everyone was encouraged to contribute or share ideas to help the community thrive.

Several Board members were introduced, including Allison Feldman (Security), David Benson (West Palm Utility Undergrounding), Chad Fabrikant (Special Events), and Alex Moggio (Landscaping). Additional acknowledgments were given to Board members Harvey Willensky and Roger Blum, as well as the Executive Committee and various committee members for their dedicated service.

Key updates were shared on:

1. Security: Crime has decreased by 60% this year, thanks to upgraded security systems and increased MBPD patrols. Residents were reminded to lock cars and avoid leaving keys inside.
2. Infrastructure: FPL’s work on Hibiscus is nearing completion, and efforts are underway to include West Palm in FPL’s SSUP program for underground utilities at no cost.
3. Traffic Backups: Advocacy efforts are ongoing to explore solutions for traffic issues on the MacArthur Causeway.
4. Commercial-Grade Parties: Proactive measures are being taken with Code Enforcement and MBPD to address noise and parking concerns.
5. Marine and Mooring: Collaboration with city officials continues to prohibit overnight mooring at the state level.

Looking ahead, a major focus for 2025 will be opposing the proposed BayLink project, in its present form, along the MacArthur Causeway.

Finally, residents were encouraged to use the evening to meet new neighbors and strengthen community bonds.
