Hibiscus Undergrounding Update

Hibiscus Utility Undergrounding Committee Update
The PHS Association invited FPL to a Teams meeting with the Association’s newly formed Hibiscus Utility Undergrounding Committee on Wednesday, October 6.  Hector Maestri and Terry Miller of FPL assured the Association that FPL has heard resident’s complaints, and they were pleased to announce the following plans:
Vegetation Management (tree trimming)
Thursday, October 14 to Sunday, October 17
In order to improve reliability of service, FPL will be trimming trees near its power lines on Hibiscus Island. FPL’s contractor will start leaving written notice as soon as this Monday to inform certain residents ahead of time of tree trimming near their properties. The trimming work itself will start on Thursday. In order to finish prior to the kick off of the undergrounding work on Monday October 18, the tree trimming will continue through Sunday. FPL thanks residents in advance for their understanding.
Undergrounding (pulling cable for the backbone and repairing conduit)
Start date: Monday, October 18
A City of Miami Beach communication is being drafted and will be sent shortly to Hibiscus residents detailing the scope and timeline of the undergrounding work, impacts and practical information.
