The City of Miami Beach has informed that Phase II of the Palm and Hibiscus landscaping project will begin in late July at the following pump station/generator locations:

1. West Palm Island roundabout

2. Fountain Street (Palm Island side of bridge)

3. Hibiscus Island median

The work at each location was specifically planned in this order due to FPL work in the Hibiscus median to “split the loop,” necessary prior to completion of Hibiscus Island utility undergrounding.

The scope of work for Phase II includes installation of pavers and a concrete access driveway to the pump station equipment, a new irrigation system and landscaping. The landscaping design by Craven Thompson and Associates was reviewed by the PHS Islands Association and will be implemented by LEE Construction Group Inc.

The landscaping work will take place Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Any extended time or Saturday work requires city approval and community notification. Completion of the landscaping work for all three locations is expected by the end of January 2024, although the schedule could change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
